Miss Jy’Sland LeSane

I.C. Norcom High School

     Congratulations to Miss Jy’Sland LeSane for being selected as a NEL K-12 Career Explorer participant. Jy’Sland is a standout high school scholar that loves extracurricular activities of all types. Miss LeSane is an avid volleyball and soccer player and has readily contributed to her school's yearbook and broadcast staff. Jy’Sland has no problem giving back to the community as she volunteers time and efforts as a young community leader. She is in the National Junior Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, The YLD, Gifted and Talented Program, and the Superintendent's Student Advisory Board. Jy’Sland loves setting  and achieving the goals that she sets for herself and loves conquering any challenge that make her stronger. She sings in her church choir and has played a variety of instruments ranging from the piano to the steel drums. She has a tendency to form unbreakable bonds and inspire others following behind her. In addition, Miss LeSane has experience in coding and continually tries her best to be all that she can be while working on continuously improving any weaknesses.  Jy'Sland plans to major in Aerospace Engineering and eventually achieve her dream of becoming a premier internationally know Aerospace Engineer and innovator at NASA. Jy'Sland is currently the youngest NEL® Team President and is ultimately aims to make her family proud and lead by example. Miss LeSane is currently a junior attending I.C. Norcom High School in Portsmouth, VA and has maintained an All A report card every marking period since elementary school.
