The 2020 National Engineering League Internship Selections
Mr. Desmond Lockhart
Congratulations to Desmond Lockhart for being selected as Old Dominion University's first engineering student to participate in The National Engineering League's Research Internship. Desmond is a sophomore engineering student currently working to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from ODU's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Program. Desmond's research will focus on "The Implementation of Aerodynamics in NASCAR Vehicles". Upon successful completion of his research assignment, Lockhart seeks to provide a better understanding of the physics involved in the world of NASCAR. Desmond works as a resident assistant at the university when not attending classes and is also assisting with marketing and branding initiatives of future NEL franchises in his downtime. Ultimately, Desmond is continually building professional relationships and taking the initiative to create opportunities to develop himself professional prior to graduating.
